Discotheques first appeared during WWII in Occupied France. After the war, these clubs came out into the open. One famous Paris discotheque was called “Whiskey a Gogo”. In that Paris disco, non-stop music was played using two turntables next to a dance-floor, and this concept spread around the world.

  1. 9 min, no errors

Salut to USAA. Been a member since 1983.
They also refer to themselves as a “Family”.

Looks the word this last week in crosswords is MAME or Angela … ha!

  2. 8:56 – no errors or lookups. False start: FUN>YUM.

New or forgotten: “Your Friends & Neighbors,” “BoJack Horseman,” SALUT (for “hi”). Interesting 3 names for what I knew as the Rhine River.

An easy family-oriented theme. The Sister Sledge song is from my late teen days. Still like it!

Didn’t know that the Mr. Olympia contest was still going on. Hmm. I guess beauty pageants, too.

  3. Love the crosswords. I am learning an awful lot. Please keep providing them. You are doing an excellent job.
